What I Do.
Intake Call
We start with a free brief 15-minute intake call.
It’s been my experience that many people only need to get pointed to the right Court Form or the right website. If that’s all you need, then I’ll point you in the right direction and I won’t try to upsell you on something else.
However, if you need more than that, then we’ll use the Intake Call to figure it out and start working on one of these options.
Brief Services
I’ve found that I can accomplish quite a lot in just 1-2 hours. For example,
I can walk through court documents with you to explain what is happening and understand your legal rights and defenses.
I can help assemble your own exemptions claim.
I can get you started in disputing a debt or dealing with a debt collector.
Limited Representation
I also provide “unbundled” legal representation in garnishment/exemption cases or in conciliation court debt collection cases.
Full Representation Debt Defense
If you are getting sued by a debt collector, and your best option is defending yourself in court, I can defend you.
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
Unfortunately, sometimes debt collectors cross the line and the only way to deal with them is by using the FDCPA to bring them to court.
If you need to use this tool, I can represent you.
Bankruptcy Chapters 7 and 13
When one of these other options isn’t enough, filing for bankruptcy might be your best option. In this case, I’ll already be familiar with your situation and I can get started working without sending through another round of referrals and intakes.
Debt Relief Agency Disclosure: Federal law requires the following disclosure: Carvell Legal Services PLLC is a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
Whether bankruptcy is the best option depends upon your individual circumstances. During an initial consultation we will discuss your financial situation and explain available options, including alternatives to bankruptcy when appropriate.
